Artist's Comments

For this assignment, we were to take inspiration from our 3D Model to create a space for a specific activity. We chose from a list of "passive" activities, and mine was meditation. Made for one person, 1/4" scale. Made out of two-ply chipboard.

i would love to see some interiors on this, as meditative spaces have always been my favorite... you might say all of my buildings are somewhat contemplative. the low lighting from underneath up in the tower creates reversed shadows, opposite of the sun. though vissually interesting, reversed shadows are somewhat "unatural" and can be unsettling. It might behoove you to look at churches and how they are lit. you might like japanese churches, like this. [link]

i love your overall form, and i agree that simple geometries are best for meditation and contemplation.

i look forward to seeing more of your work.
